Javea, Costa Blanca

Javea is situated at the most easterly point on Mainland Spain & lies at the northern end of the Costa Blanca, approximately 60 miles (100 km) from Valencia and 55 miles (90 kms) from Alicante. The coastline has scenic rocky coves, wonderful sun kissed beaches and magnificently dramatic cliffs. Javea has been voted environmentally near perfect by the World Health Organisation and boasts approx 320 days of sunshine a year & making it the ideal Villa rental holiday home location for those seeking a self catering rental accommodation holiday! 

Javea is be divided neatly into four main areas, the Old Town, the Port, the Arenal and the outlying suburbs which house many of the Villa rentals & the Apartment rentals.

The Arenal is the Javea blue flag beach where the shore gently slopes into the beautifully warm Mediterranean sea. The promenade has many, many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants providing a variety of food that is guaranteed to suit all tastes. During the evening in the Summer months, you will find a variety of stalls selling a variety of crafts. Many of the numerous bars have live music and there are several discotheques around the town for those who wish to dance the night away. There are also several scenic coves close to Javea.  Grandella & Portichol, with its crystal clear waters is a favourite for scuba diving and snorkelling. Javea also supports a naturist beach at Ambolo. 

Old Town, Javea.  This is the ancient town centre steeped in medieval history which has largely been preserved throughout the centuries. Here you can wander through the maze of narrow streets and small plazas. The Gothic fortified church of San Bartolome dominates the centre of the town. This building dates back to the 15th century, half religious half military. At the side of the church is a beautiful Neo Gothic building where you will locate the local indoor market where you can buy local fresh produce daily. The colourful & popular outdoor market takes place every Thursday in the market place. 

The Port. This was originally a fishing community but has now become one of the main tourist attractions & centres of the town. Here, amongst the modern buildings, you will find the ancient quarters of narrow streets with the simple whitewashed fishermans houses. It is a lively bustling area with many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Just the place to sit and sample the local wines whilst watching the fishing boats bringing in the days catch. From the center of then port the majestic structure of the church of Our Lady of Loreto with a roof which imitates the hull of a ship, rises. The modern Nautical Club at the marina has facilities for all forms of water sports. 

Activities in & around Javea. Nearly every kind of watersport is catered for in Javea, and for those who dont want to get their feet wet there is bowls, golf, tennis, cycling, horse riding and hiking to name but a few.
