Costa Blanca, Spain

Officially designated one of the healthiest climates in the world by the World Health Organisation, the Costa Blanca boasts 320 days of sunshine every year with very comfortable winter temperatures up to an average of 32 degrees in the hottest months of July & August. No wonder it has become such a popular place to holiday in for millions of North Europeans.

The Costa Blanca has such a rich variety of both natural & man made attractions that you could holiday here every year for ten years & only scratch the surface!

Reaching Costa Blanca is both easy & relatively cheap. Three major airports service the area. Alicante Airport is centrally located & excellent for access to any part of the region whilst Valencia Airport serves the Northern Costa Blanca & Murcia Airport is excellent for both the the southern areas of the Costa Blanca & for the Costa Calida (which, in essence, is an extension of Southern Costa Blanca).

Two major roads, the A7 motorway & the main N332, ensure that access from anywhere to anywhere within the Costa Blanca is both easy & speedy. A train journey from Alicante to Denia & then Gandia to Valencia is one that will remain in the memory for years & public bus services are excellent, numerous & very good value for money in most areas of the Costa Blanca.

For the sun lover there are so many white sand beaches abounding this coast that it is impossible to count & all face onto the clear blue Mediterranean Sea. Consisting of hundreds of coves as well as miles & miles of straight stretches of beautiful white sand the coastal region is an absolute delight.

The choice of holiday destination is quite excellent. For those requiring a beach holiday the main destinations would be Altea, Calpe, Moraira, Javea, Denia & Oliva in Northern Costa Blanca, Benidorm & El Campello in Central Costa Blanca & the Torrevieja area (many, many small town resorts are included north & south of Torrevieja itself) in the Southern Costa Blanca. For those who require more than a beach holiday there are many holiday rental accommodations available in areas lying 10 to 20kms inland from which the choice of exploring the beautiful off coast areas is available but having the advantage of the actual coast being but 15 to 30 minutes drive away.

The Costa Blanca Golfing facilities are quite excellent with an extremely large choice of quality venues being available to the avid golfer which stretch from Oliva (Oliva Nova Golf designed by Seve Ballesteros) in the north to the many golf courses around the Torrevieja area in the south.

The Costa Blanca also boasts one of Spain’s most popular theme parks, Terra Mitica (ownd by Paramount film company) and similar to a mini Disney Theme Park. This attraction seems to grow in size every year & certainly offers a great variety of family entertainment. You will find Terra Mitica just outside Benidorm. There are numerous other attractions that are well worth a visit including a safari parks and Water Parks, most of whom are conveniently accessed via the A7 motorway or the N332 coastal road.
